We needed a quiet and relaxing weekend away. Our son bought us a gift certificate to the Inn for Christmas. When we arrived the Innkeepers were there to greet us, They were warm and friendly, with great suggestions on what to see and their favorite spots for food. We were not disappointed. We started each morning with an amazing breakfast that they prepared at the Inn and then had lunch and dinner at some amazing restaurants. We spent some time touring around in Shelburne and then took a day in Burlington which is only 7 miles from the Inn.
Super friendly hosts and very comfortable accommodations. The bed was like a cloud! Everything was very well-updated despite being in an "old" house, but still with lots of character.
My husband and I were lucky enough to be invited to this beautiful inn by some friends. We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before so we didn't know what to expect. The owners were so welcoming and warm. We had many great conversations with them and learned a lot about the area. The breakfast was so fantastic!! Everything was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was relaxing. I have already recommended it to many of my clients. I wish I had grabbed some business cards to hand out because my hand is tired from writing the information for people. We will definitely return.
If you look up "Charm", there would be a picture here. My stay here couldn't have gone better: the ground itself is pleasant and easy to look at. There was ample parking (which was especially great for an inn). The central location in Shelburne makes it walking distance from at least a dozen nice places to eat and shop--including a grocery store for the basics. Rose and Anatoly take care of everything, and the whole process has an updated feel of how an inn can work. The building is old, the rooms recent, the locks new, but the feeling is timeless.
The Inn is right in downtown Shelburne, which is a quieter town outside of Burlington. There are a few really good restaurants / bars within walking distance, and the major Shelburne attractions as well as Burlington proper are only a few minutes drive.
And of course, the breakfast did NOT disappoint. Be prepared to skip lunch most days.... .
The weekend was a nice mixture of rest, relaxation, great food, local craft beers, and some shopping. We would highly recommend that you consider Heart of the Village Inn for your next weekend away!
